COBA Tyre Warranty - 25 - 63 inch rim diameter tyres
Earthmover tyre limited warranty.
This document relates to 25 - 63 inch rim diameter COBA tyres for the COBA Tyre Pty Ltd of Australia (collectively referred to in this document as COBA).

 

1. Eligibility
If you are the original purchaser or authorised agent of the original purchaser of new COBA 25 - 63 inch rim diameter tyres with the original COBA serial numbers still evident you are eligible for the benefits of this limited warranty.

 

2. Coverage
a) The limited warranty is effective for 3 years after date of initial mounting. Tyre records will be used to validate the initial mounting date. If proof of the purchase date is not available, the date of manufacture indicated on the serial number will be used as the warranty commencement date.

b) If any COBA 25 - 63 inch diameter tyre covered by this limited warranty becomes unserviceable due to a covered warranty condition, such tyre will, at the option of COBA, be repaired or replaced with a comparable new tyre. Customer will be charged for replacement based on the remaining tread depth, or at COBA's option, COBA will issue an appropriate credit which can be used for purchasing COBA's product only.

c) A successful consideration will be calculated in accordance with the following table

d) Machine or tyre hours are to be used. Purchase price considered is FOB price only.

e) COBA is not responsible for logistics, statutory or regulatory charges.

f) No claim will be recognised unless submitted on a COBA claim form, with all details completed, copy of original invoice attached and signed by the purchaser.

g) If COBA engineers cannot inspect the tyre subject to claim on site the purchaser shall provide photo's to COBA's specifications and satisfaction which clearly shows details such as serial number, remaining tread depth, damage zone. All claims are subject to
inspection and approval by COBA engineering personnel.

 

3. Warranty Limitations
a) This limited warranty is applicable to tyres purchased from COBA

b) No representative or dealer has authority to make any representation, promise, warranty or agreement on behalf of COBA

c) Any tyre, no matter how well constructed, may fail in service or otherwise become unserviceable due to conditions beyond the
control of the manufacturer. Under no circumstance is this limited warranty a representation that a tyre failure cannot occur.

 

4. What is not covered by this warranty
a) Tyres purchased more than 3 years prior to presentation for consideration or without proof of purchase date, tyres manufactured 3 years prior to presentation are not covered.

b) Tyres for which an alternate warranty/guarantee has been negotiated

c) When the life of the original tread depth has worn down to 15% of the original tread depth, the tyre is considered to be worn out.

d) Air retention claims on tyres presented for adjustment more than 30 days after initial tyre wheel/rim mounting date, or if proof of purchase is not available, more than 3 months after manufacture date. Official tyre records demonstrating dates and pressures are to
be submitted with any air retention claim.

e) Irregular wear or tyre damage due to: impact breaks, cuts, cut separations, snags, machine damage, wreck, collision, fire, improper inflation, overloading, misapplication, misuse, negligence, operation at excessive speed, rim or chain damage, damage caused by mechanical condition for the vehicle, chemical attack or any act of god as defined by insurance companies.

f) Tyres operating in excess of their rated Tonne-Kilometre-per hour (TKPH) factor.

g) Tyres operating in excess of the rated work capability factor (WCF).

h) Tyres with improperly seated beads, Knurling impressions from the rim that continure around the head heel are sufficient evidence of improper seating.

iTyres mounted with 'O' rings that are not approved by COBA for use with its earthmover tyres.

j) Tyres that have failed due to material added after original manufacture (eg. tyre fillers, sealant, ballast or balancing substances). If the added material is the cause of the tyre being removed from service they will not be adjusted.

k) Repairs or retreads.

l) Uniformity or vibration claims on tyres mounted more than 6 months prior to presentation for consideration or if proof of purchase is not available more than 6 months after manufacture date.

m) Coba disclaims any warranty of fitness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. This warranty does not include loss of time, loss of use of equipment, cost of replacement equipment or any incidental and consequential damages.

 

5. Owners Obligations
a) No claim will be recognised unless the product is inspected by a COBA representative. All warranty considerations will be confirmed by mail regardless of the success or otherwise of the consideration.

b) The claimant shall pay taxes, mounting and any additional services you order at the time of a successful warranty consideration. Any additional charges such as freight are the owner's responsibility.

c) Adjusted tyres are to be rendered unserviceable by severing both bead bundles. Photographic evidence is required of this prior to claim settlement. Disposal of the tyre is the responsibility of the owner.

d) Always maintain the appropriate inflation pressures as recommended by COBA. Documented proof may be required prior to any claim settlement.

e) Any on board or otherwise machine cycle, payload and productivity information must be made available to the authorised COBA representative if requested.

 

6. Property Damage, Serious Injury or Death may result from;
FAILURE DUE TO UNDER INFLATION/OVERLOADING;
FOLLOW OEM EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS

INSTANTANEOUS FAILURE OF TYRE ASSEMBLY DUE TO IMPROPER PRACTISES
a) Only competent or qualified personnel shall perform any service work on COBA tyres. COBA cannot be accountable for any work performed by unqualified personnel.

b) Improper use or maintenance of OTR tyres may result in serious and or fatal injury. Always follow accepted risk assessment procedures when performing any tyre work. Refer to Australian Standard 4457 for further information.

FAILURE TO DEFLATE SINGLE OR DUAL ASSEMBLIES COMPLETELY BEFORE DEMOUNTING
c) Before loosening any clamps or nuts that attach a multi-piece rim assembly to a vehicle always completely deflate the tyre mounted as a single or both tyres in a dual assembly by removing the valve cores.

d) Never attempt to remove a tyre from a wheel or rim unless the tyre is confirmed as being completely deflated. To confirm total deflation pass a piece of wire through the valve stem into the air chamber to ensure that it is not blocked.

e) Always use eye protection and be aware of high speed particulate ejection during deflation.

f) Always use a noise reduction system or hearing protection during the deflation process.

WELDING, BRAZING OR USING ANY TYPE OF HEAT SOURCE ON A MOUNTED TYRE/RIM ASSEMBLY
g) Do not, under any circumstance, attempt to rework, weld, heat or braze any rim components that are cracked, broken or damaged, this includes retaining studs, nuts and bolts.

h) Replace with new parts or parts that are not cracked, broken or damaged, and which are the same size, type and manufacturer. Consult the rim manufacturer concerning proper replacement components.

i) The application of any heat source to a wheel or rim that has a tyre mounted to it may result in a catastrophic failure resulting in serious and or fatal injury and large scale property loss. Under no circumstance shall heat be applied to a tyre/wheel/rim assembly
until the tyre is demounted from the wheel/rim.
